John K. Baldwin
Principal and CEO
In 1995, Mr. Baldwin founded Bridge Capital, LLC, an opportunity fund, financial services company and asset manager that specializes in originating high yield loans, investing in opportunistic assets and providing management services. Mr. Baldwin manages the lending activity of Bridge Capital and is the head of the company investment committee.

Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Baldwin, Bridge Capital has concentrated its growth in Asia and manages affiliated offices in Cambodia, Laos, Macau and Thailand. In addition to making loans, generally in commercial opportunities which are time or value driven, these operations include managing affiliates that are involved in various business opportunities. Mr. Baldwin’s plans for the company include the acquisition and restructuring of at least $250 million in debt and assets in the next year.

 

Shawn A. Scott
Vice Chairman & Director of Business Development
Mr. Scott has a background in finance, real estate development, construction, and development of gaming opportunities. In 2003, Mr. Shawn Scott became an owner of the company. He is a visionary who sees value where others do not, and understands how to formulate plans that unlock that value. He has been the architect for the revitalization of three horse racing tracks, three casino hotels, and a chain of highway truck stops with gaming machines. Mr. Scott reviews all loan requests pertaining to entertainment or gaming, and guides the Bridge’s investment policies for investing in and lending to emerging market gaming and entertainment opportunities

Mr. Scott has guided Bridge Capital and its affiliates in their investment and lending activities in Cambodia, including the founding of Angkor Capital Bank, a full service commercial bank headquartered in Phnom Penh. He has also been the key planner for Kingdom of Dreams Cambodia, a project within the world-famous Angkor Tourist City Zone, near Siem Reap.

Richard Pipes
Vice President and Chief Legal Officer
Mr. Pipes is responsible for the management of the legal and compliance functions of Bridge Capital and its companies. He is also responsible for assets in Guam, Saipan, Thailand, Lao P.D.R., and Cambodia. Prior to joining Bridge Capital, Mr. Pipes was in private law practice for 30 years focused on complex civil litigation, real estate, banking, and corporate transactions.

Daniel Stafford
Associate Legal Counsel
Mr. Stafford focuses on complicated development and transactional work related to assets and projects in Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Hawaii, and the U.S. mainland.  Prior to joining Bridge Capital, he served as Law Clerk to the Chief Justice of the CNMI Supreme Court, where he later worked as the Clerk of Court and staff attorney for the judicial branch.  Mr. Stafford received his Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia, where he finished in the top 5% of his class and published several articles and notes in the Law Journal.  Mr. Stafford's undergraduate degree is from Texas A&M University.  He speaks fluent Spanish and played a season of semi-professional football for the Prague Lions in 2004-2005.

Jim Kochel
Diector, South East Asia Operations
Jim Kochel joined Bridge Capital LLC in 2009 and manages all investment opportunities in Cambodia. Prior to joining Bridge Capital, Kochel was a Vice President with Rabobank North America where he facilitated over $400 million in real estate and commercial investments. He has extensive experience in deal sourcing, structuring and investment analysis, along with the execution and continued oversight of these investment projects. He has owned and operated businesses in the hospitality industry.  He holds a BA in communications from California State University and an MBA in finance from the University of Southern California.

Robert Jamar
Senior Investment Associate, South East Asia Operations
Robert Jamar joined Bridge Capital in 2009 and has extensive experience in the primary due diligence, market analysis, valuation modeling and development of investment presentations. Prior to joining Bridge Capital, LLC, Jamar worked as an analyst in General Electric’s Financial Management Program. He holds a BA in Business Administration and graduated summa cum laude from Boston University’s School of Management.

Tan Kim Lai
Project Manager, Cambodia
New Business Development ACB
Mr. Tan has been involved in Cambodia's hospitality and tourism industry for over 13 years. He leverages his experience and knowledge of the local business community to direct the development of hotel projects for the Cambodia market and serves as in an advisory capacity for Angkor Capital Bank's New Business Development group.
